When You Call

When You Call

When You Call

When You Call

Oh, Oh, …. ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

You see the world is in chaos
It’s a complex mess,
so much animosity, so much intolerance
People oppressed, truth is suppressed
At some point we may get depressed
Enough to have a mental breakdown — trip to unconsciousness

No little wonder why people cut their life lines
Too tired to go on trying, some just live in denial
Others basically live to exist — now get this
They’re tired of experiencing pain so they pick the easy way out because

Everyone is too selfish, so consumed with themselves
Too busy to notice when someone screams out for help

So when your world stops turning, world stops turning around
And you feel discouraged, too tired to carry on
When you need a shoulder to cry on, an extra voice to whisper a prayer
I will be there, I will be there
When you call

It’s a depressing state, let’s not suppress this case
The truth is we are living a lie on a daily basis
Pretending like we’re there, like we’re better than others
Instead of looking inward, we’re busy photo shopping,
cropping, blurring, and filtering, and then we’re figure fixing
Attempting to create superficial perfection for followers, loves and likes
Yikes, meanwhile someone out there is screaming out for help cause they’re in deep pain
But we can’t hear cause we’re so absorbed in ourselves

Instead of faking it, why not just be real
Let’s learn to show the love
And lend a helping hand

So when your world stops turning, world stops turning around
And you feel discouraged, too tired to carry on
When you need a shoulder to cry on, an extra voice to whisper a prayer
I will be there, I will be there
When you call

When you call…

About “When You Call”

When You Call is the last track on the EP, Lyrical Detox. It talks about how everyone needs a shoulder to lean on because no one is an Island. Sadly, many people go ignored because we are so busy trying to outdo ourselves (thanks to social media). We forget to pause, look around and reach out to those who really need help.

This is a heavy, yet beautiful reminder of the truth that we strive too hard to turn away from. A reminder that we need to be there for those who are struggling and be real.

OMG, that was really needed – I love the powerful message of reaching out, to acknoledge those who are struggling, and stop trying to someone we are not – like you said, which is what we got from being on social media – thank you. Blessings!
