To Whom It May Concern
I had no intentions of putting up a post today but as I began to reflect on a couple of things, I figured why not? Who knows? Someone out there may just be waiting for it.
This is not a motivational post and it’s definitely not a sermon. It’s something I think everyone should have on their mind at all times. So, to whoever is reading this, I hope it speaks volumes.
Time and seasons are made up of seconds
The best thing you can do for yourself is to live in the moment. You have to be present in the now because you’ll never have that opportunity again. It doesn’t matter what your goals or plans are, the only moment you can ever truly own is the now.
You cannot own the past nor can you rewind it — it’s senseless to be stuck there. Similarly, as much as you try you cannot fast forward time; so quit worrying about the future because each day has enough trouble of its own.
You are different from everyone else
Out of the billions of people in the world, there’s only one you. Even twins have certain differences– but even if there is none, they are still two different people.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that there’s only one version of you. This implies that your journey is different from anyone else. The earlier you understand this, the better it’d be.
Stop trying to read from another person’s script. Life has something different for each and every one of us and for that reason, comparison is a sheer waste of time. Embrace your season in whatever shade it comes in. The choices you make will determine your direction in life. Choose wisely.
Honesty is the best policy
Admit your faults. Acknowledge when you’re wrong; stand your ground when you’re right. Truth is upright and doesn’t mind being challenged. When you’re honest with yourself, it’s easier to be honest with others.
No one will ever truly know you as much as you know yourself. In fact, the greatest form of deception is lying to one’s self. Stand for the truth even if it costs your life. It’s better to die for the truth than to live for a lie because if you really think about it, what is there to live for if everything is all an illusion?
Happiness is free
Make do with what you have. Cut your coat according to your size. Stop trying to impress people, it’ll end in stress and tears because truly speaking, no one really cares. You don’t need a gigantic wedding in order to get married. You don’t need to eat at expensive restaurants to feel full. Don’t ‘fake it to make it’– life is a lot easier than this.
The truth is when you drop dead, it’s only a matter of time before you’ll be forgotten. Everyone you’ve ever tried to impress won’t care because they’d be too busy moving on. So why waste your life struggling to impress everyone else? Definitely not worth it. Learn to create your own happiness with what is available to you.
Make your life count
Having all the money in the world is worthless since it can’t solve all of life’s problems. The richest people aren’t even the happiest people– in fact, more money brings about more problems. You do not need so much money to make significant changes. Understand that everyone you come in contact with has appeared for a reason. Try to reach out in the best way you can– a smile, lend a helping hand, whisper a prayer for them, offer a ray of hope… above all, be present.
In an age where technology seems to be all in all, we get lost in time being stuck in front of our screens and forget those who are physically around us. As a result, we become unaware of the significant things happening around us– the yelling eyes, the broken heart, the cries for help. On the flip side, the tears of joy, the love, and affections of loved ones.
Make your life count by being kind, by being present.
Believe or not, we are all answerable to someone
We are mortal beings with immortal souls. Whether or not you believe that is simply your choice but what is true is true. If you think all there is, is here and now, you may want to think again because… what if it isn’t? What if there is truly more on the other side?
At the end of the day, we are answerable to God our Father and creator through Jesus Christ. To Him, we will give an account of all we’ve done. When we’re gone, will our words and actions speak for us or against us? You decide.
To whom it may concern, share your thoughts!
