Invincible || Viano Dee

Intro:
You see everyone expects so much from a man
But they don’t really understand
How much effort it takes

Look y’all, it’s hard being a man
But society makes it seem easy to be one
They fill you with words of high expectations,
expect you to meet them like you’re God

It’s so much pressure
and it’s weighing you down
The blasts from their mouths
Just attack you like darts

It’s so overwhelming,
you’re stressed out, you’re drowning
But still they expect you to put up a bold front
Like a champion,
even when your knees give way,
they expect you to stay standing still

Like a mountain,
Forgetting you’re human too
And you’ve got needs like support,
love and understanding

But you’re all alone
standing on two bended knees,
Crying your eyes out
While the world is asleep

You’re hurting, you’re broken,
Your eyes are both swollen
But it not the end
And I need you to hear this

I know that life ain’t easy
And it’s not going the way you planned it
Know you’re wondering if you will pull through
Oh yes, you will, you’re invincible

And when it seems like you’ve lost focus
Everyone turns their back against you
I need you to remember with God you’re able
You’ll make it through, you’re invincible

And when it hits hard, when you can’t go on ,
when you feel alone,
when the burden’s heavy, there’s no help in sight
when the days go slowly, and the nights stand by
when the rain’s too stormy and your boat capsizes
when the rainbow’s hiding behind the cloudy sky,
I need you to remember
I want you to remember

That when it hits hard, when you can’t go on ,
when you feel alone,
when the burdens heavy, there’s no help in sight
when the days go slowly, and the nights stand by
when the rain’s too stormy and your boat capsizes
when the rainbow’s hiding behind the cloudy sky, yo
I need you to remember
I hope that you remember

To all the men out there, much love. Stay strong.

About “Invincible”

Invincible is the second track on the EP, Lyrical Detox. The song sheds light on the struggles of being a man. It shows the way society makes it seem like being a man is an easy task — like all he has to do is to provide but many times, they don’t bother to know how. They don’t talk about how many tears a man sheds when he’s alone. What about the constant pressures he faces on a daily basis? That just goes to the wind. It’s almost like no one cares.

The song is an encouragement to men letting them know that regardless of the issues they face, they are remembered, loved and invincible.

It is indeed difficult for many men to live up to the high standards society expects of them. Your lyrics show insight and compassion.

Great tunes and lyrics too! Very interesting perspective. We do expect a lot from a man, but then again we women also do a lot also.

sounds like a wonderful poem, lyrics are great. It gives a place to think which is not that often in real life

I’m sure a lot of people would appreciate this song as it seems that a lot of families still live under rules that certain genders need to live by certain rules and do certain things in life – which I definitely don’t agree with at all – and this poem seems to speak to those who live that kind of life.

I guess it is about time that we stop putting pressure on others regardless of gender roles. It’s actually counterproductive. Thank you for sharing this song. It’s a great reminder for all of us.
