Don’t Rush- Viano Dee
Aakash Gandhi on the beat
It’s Viano Dee!
Let’s go!
Hear the mumble ring, those are voices of your relatives
Gathering together wondering when you will settle down
They say you’re in your 30s but you haven’t brought home anyone
You’re gradually becoming the main topic of their many gossips
You know you’re not ready cause you’ve put things into perspective
But they are never paying attention cause they want you to have kids
It’s surprising how they are pushing not regarding divorce rates
Guess it’s time to put them in the right place
I’m doing fine, I feel alright
And when it’s time, I’ll bring home a spouse
But as for now, let me live my life
Don’t choke me out with this never-ending pressure
Just look around, look at the stats
How many broken homes, can you please count
Don’t pressure me into getting a spouse
I choose to be patient till the time is right
I’m tired of being the subject of your gossip
Maybe you should try to be supportive
Get busy with the issues that concern you
Don’t stress me out
This isn’t something that anyone should rush into
Just because everyone around is taken
It takes a lot more than getting that title
Don’t rush me in
Not everyone who is married is happy
Some are just pretending to be living fine
(Many are dying in silence)
I would rather be single and happy than be married and miserable
I choose to take my time and I know that’s not the regular
Stop bothering me, it’s my story, don’t be a meddler
At God’s own time, I will find mine, it’ll be spectacular
And if I choose to remain single, I no be criminal
I’m doing fine, I feel alright
And when it’s time, I’ll bring home a spouse
But as for now, let me live my life
Don’t choke me out with this never-ending pressure
Just look around, look at the stats
How many broken homes, can you please count
Don’t pressure me into getting a spouse
I choose to be patient till the time is right
I’m tired of being the subject of your gossip
Maybe you should try to be supportive
Get busy with the issues that concern you
Don’t stress me out
This isn’t something that anyone should rush into
Just because everyone around is taken
It takes a lot more than getting that title
Don’t rush me in
I just f****d up the whole thing, you know that?

Although
I’m stuck in a wedding yet I managed to read it.. It is mind blowing and yet so needed in this time!
I loved this! It is always good to read the work of others. I agree with the part about
‘I’m tired of being the subject of your gossip
Maybe you should try to be supportive
Get busy with the issues that concern you
Don’t stress me out‘
Sadly so very true xx
This is beautiful! Surely it came from a personal place. I relate to this immensely as I get this pressure from some family members. I see that they see the reality they want to see without even trying to see from my perspective. Strong message!
the song seems pretty nice! i like it! thanks for sharing, I would definitely miss it if it wasn’t here
Can I just say I love the line of “many are dying in silence”. So freaking true! I’d much rather be happy above all else!
The song is really nice and love the message. I agree with you that we should never rush. Stop marrying because of the wrong reasons.
Lovely song which depicts what many of the folks are going through with a profound message.Hope folks realize it is not worth rushing in and put unnecessary pressure.
This depicts a typical African situation. It is best to do it with the right person at the right time. I heard a horror story by the victim who rushed into marriage and she bears emotional scars which would be hard to heal. It is good to marry and encourage people to marry but pressure does not always result in a happily ever after.
