2020: The Year of Viruses?

2020: The Year of Viruses?

The Surprise

Many started the beginning of 2020 with resolutions, plans, and hopes of having better days. What we were unaware of, was a virus that would cause a pandemic. Coronavirus had actually begun to spread somewhere in China– Wuhan, to be precise. Again, folks thought it would start and end there. Little did the world know that they were in for a rude awakening. As at the time of this writing, there are about 416,066 coronavirus cases worldwide. Check here for stats.

Barely three months have passed since the pandemic and while the world is trying to grasp all that is going on, a virus from the same China has raised its ugly head. It is known as Hantavirus. Hantavirus isn’t a new virus as it was first discovered during the American- Korean war which took place in Korea (Hantan River) sometime in the 1950s.

It is said that the virus spreads from rats or mice if their body fluids are ingested by humans. The good news is, unlike Coronavirus, Hantavirus is rarely transmittable from one human to another– Swedish scientist, Dr. Sumaiya Shaikh explains in a tweet. She encourages people not to panic except they plan on eating rats.

Some of the symptoms include headaches, shortness of breath, coughs and severe fever. These do not manifest until about 1- 8 weeks after being in direct contact with fresh urine, droppings, saliva, and occasionally, bites of infected rodents. (Source). For more details, check here. As at the time of writing, there is no definite treatment or cure for it.

So far only one case of death has been reported. According to New York Post, an unidentified victim from Yunnan province died while on a chartered bus heading to his workplace in Shandong province. He was tested positive for Hantavirus and the other 32 passengers were also tested but their results weren’t stated. This leaves us to wonder whether or not they have been infected.

The Effect

It is really baffling to know that in a time like this, the prices of toilet rolls, hand sanitizers, and face masks have skyrocketed. Not only are the prices outrageous, but they are also very scarce in some places. Reason being that the sellers and/or manufacturers have taken advantage of the pandemic to make profit. Then we have the hoarders who have probably bought 20 years worth of all the listed items without considering others. This action has led to scarcity which in turn results in more demand and of course, the hike in price.

Secondly, the virus has caused an overwhelming lockdown as businesses, schools are being forced to shut down in many places all over the world. This could lead to economic collapse if it goes on too long. On the bright side, this period has helped families to stay together especially incases were such families have been made strangers as a result of spending most of their days outside their homes. Think of it has a public holiday only no one’s sure for how long.

Coincidence or Conspiracy

Since the advent of these viruses, many have begun to wonder if there are mere coincidences or conspiracies. Could the year 2020 have more secrets to unravel? First, was the death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter among others, then this. What next?

Truth is, it is difficult not to think of what has been going on so far as a conspiracy. Who will benefit from this? What are the benefits? Is there an agenda? What is it? Have we been victims of predictive programming? Is there something they know that we don’t? These are some of the questions that pop up. If you’re thinking this too, you are not alone.

For the time being, we can safely say that the short term beneficiaries of this pandemic are:

  • Toilet roll, santizer, gloves and face mask companies.
  • Neflix —because at this period many families will binge-watch movies and shows.
  • Farmers: They’ll produce food that people will need.
  • Online stores: Since people will be home, they are likely to order for essentials they might need

These cannot be said to be the biggest beneficiaries of the pandemic. Why? They can only thrive when money is available. In the long run, if people don’t work, they won’t get paid. If they don’t get paid, they can’t buy anything. So who is the biggest benefactor? In my opinion, one out of two entities.

Pharmaceutical Corporations. Will they or will they not profit from this pandemic? They definitely will as they have been making so much profit from vaccines in recent years. As of May 2019, the Pharmaceutical Processing World stated that the global vaccines market revenue was expected to reach up to $59.2 billion by 2020. This entity could earn so much from vaccines. It wouldn’t be surprising if the whole idea was to create a virus for the sole purpose of earning from vaccines. Therefore, virus + vaccines= Massive Profit. However, this may or may not be the case.

The Government: If people can’t buy anything, who would they look up to? I guess you already know. If this happens, that means the government can control the people. They’ll give them terms and conditions which they’ll be forced to live by if they want to survive or be favored. The people will practically be zombies as they’ll have no say of theirs.

The Bible, written many centuries ago, informs us of the Anti-Christ (Beast) who will rule. In his time, no one will buy or sell without receiving the mark of the beast and those who refuse to accept the mark, will be put to death. See Revelation 13:14-16 But eventually, he’ll be destroyed.

Nothing paints a clearer picture than George Orwell’s book titled Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984). In his book, everyone is answerable to Big Brother because he is always watching. This brings us to the conclusion that in a way, we might be victims of Predictive Programming.

Predictive Programming is the theory that the government or other higher-ups are using fictional movies or books as a mass mind control tool to make the population more accepting of planned future events.

Come to think of it. Remember Big Brother from the book 1984? Isn’t is a show now? Isn’t Big Brother always watching? Look at the logo— the all-seeing eye. Apart from the show, aren’t almost all or if not all of our activities being monitored through the internet, gadgets, satellites, drones— you name it. Would you still call that a coincidence?

Another perfect example is The Simpsons. Created by Matthew Groening, the animated American sitcom has succeeded in predicting the future several times.

It is known for predicting Trump as president, the use of smartwatches, Disney owning 20th century Fox among others (click here for details).

Conclusion

With all that has been said, doesn’t it seem like some people know stuff that we don’t? So if 2020 is the year of viruses as we know, should we expect more or what’s next? Is this one of the final steps to a new world order — a unified world with one leader? Are we a few steps closer to the Apocalypse? Is this the Scripture being fulfilled? Surely, time will tell.

But if it’s any consolation, whether it is planned or not, it seems like the elites are the most affected. If indeed it’s a grand plan, it seems to be backfiring. If it isn’t planned, then it’s rather unfortunate. In all of this, maybe it’s time to get closer to Jesus and stay woke.

Let’s hear what you have to say. Share your thoughts.
